This is what was gathered from an "After Action Review" of the Divinity war effort on January 2nd, 2007. Hopefully we can comment/learn from this so in the future we can better ourselves!
Things we can improve upon (1) Fighting against premades that have experienced this; inexperienced (2) No real strong plan, should plan beforehand (3) More casters/healers/rogues in future groups
Things we did good/all right on (1) Everyone listened (2) Learn assist command quickly

I'd like to add in also that we need to be able to control the Battle flow better with our own CC (Crowd Control). Meaning a bit more Poly/Root/Snare/Stuns etc. A single well placed stun on a Priest can make a big difference when that priest is behind a flag carrier.

All of our paladins incessantly spammed stun, but asides from the premade tank classes we came up against that seemed to be wearing pvp epic, all the casters seemed 90% immune to them! It was nuts

Something to add to the list: Using Ventrilo.

Yes definitely Ventrilo! Its hard to pay attention to the chat when people are on vent! Even if you dont have a mic its good to go on it to just listen to our master speak! Overall we did well...it was our first time! Experienced premades with tier 2 armor is definitely tough! It was more than tough and I hate shamans, they kick my bootie all the time lol! Oh and if you dont know what "assist" means...its a term that shows you what your Raid Leader is targeting! Pretty cool macro Molukai and Nico told me about it! I never heard of it! Its pretty interesting!!! If you wanna know more about the macro for assist just reply to this post!
Also, when we run any type of Raid...for BGs, instances, and regular raids against horde, make sure you are 100% participating with the raid and don't leave after we "fail"...its not fair to give up and leave your guildies behind! Yes, people want to lvl up and grind, but if you are participating in a raid with your guild...you can't leave them behind! So make sure you will give your 100% participation to the raids or any type of activity there is going on with the guild! When one person leaves, everything soon falls apart!
For those who were there for WSG...we still did awesome even though we lost those few times we went! We'll definitely do better next time!

Well,
I think it was a good effort, since it was our first (Mol said second, but whatever) time together(10man) in WSG. The Hordes were all pre-made from 'old' servers (remember, Venture Co. is only 5-6months old, no?) with tier2s and I doubt it that any of us that were there even have a single tier1..
I want to add a few more things other than what others have said above:
1. Swiftness Potions,
I wonder why don't alot of people use this.. It is cheap, it increases your speed by 40% for 10seconds, and it CAN make a huge difference in WSG.
Buy some in AH, or better yet, our very own Shalina (Shalina-hunter Co. ==>http://divinityorder.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=1234&action=display&thread=1167761765) is able to create and sell us some Swiftness Potions.
Use this combo, and this guarentee us to capture 1 flag (won't happen alot of time, but it DOES happen)
---> Capture Horde flag --> run to long tunnel --> get the 100% speed boost --> wait until it runs out, use Swiftness Potion --> wait 'til it runs out, use Nifty Stopwatch(another 40% boost for 10 seconds, from a quest in Badlands) --> go to long tunnel --> get another 100% speed boost --> Go to Alliance flag.
2. Graveyard Camping
Did anyone else notice that after those pre-made Hordes defeated us in midfield battle, 6 to 7 of them started to camp our graveyard, while the rest of them (2 or 3) went for the flag?
Here is why I think this tactic is awesome: (Darn it, I don't know how to make it viewable.. It's always messed up even after I modify it..) l 1 l l l 1 l 6-7Hordes camping l l tunnel l l ........................xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx---------------------------- l l 1 lAlliance Graveyard l <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<l 1 l l l 1 l l l 1 l l2 l l l 1 l 2 l 1 2 1 2 1 2 Alliance Flag
xxxxxxxxx is bulwarks, where you canNOT pass through it. ------------- is of course, the cliff..
So this is *most likely* what will happen IF we go all offense and we lose at/the midfield. (We went all offense several times on our WSG raid)
1. We lose midfield, 2. 6-8 Horde start camping our graveyard, 3. 2-4 Horde capture our flag, 4. They will run through tunnel (1s on the illustration), 5. Alliance respawn, we have 2 choice to get to the flag-carrier: -Jump down and hope the 6-8 hordes will let you pass, OR -Go the long way ( <<<<<<<<< signs on the illustration) and hope that our 60% mount (most of us still use non-epic) can catch up with the flag carrier.
Theoritically, IF the situation is like above, it is nearly impossible to catch their flag-carrier.. unless we still have someone in the midfield that can slow him, or.. the flag-carrier breaks his leg while carrying the flag..
3. Free Action Potion
I like the rhyme of this potion: Action Potion, heheh ;D, get it? Anyway, I just recently use this potions, after I got it as a present for Christmas from my friend.. I find it really really useful, especially when I'm (Warrior) fighting a mage.. They can't freeze me, or slow me..
You can also use this while carrying a flag.
*When there is no horde in sight, or a few that won't interfere with your carrying, use SWIFTNESS POTION. *When there is hordes in sight that will attack/slow/root while you are carrying the flag, use FREE ACTION POTION.
That is all I want to say.. I hope this will help us in future WSG..
Thanks for reading.
