Stepping down from the GM position is the hardest decision that I have ever made playing an online game. I am sorry that I have not been able to be as active as a guild like Divinity needs. I do not do this lightly, and it is only after long weeks of thought have I finally come to terms with what I need to do. .
I feel I owe it to you to let you know why I am stepping down.
1) Personal time. My wife has urged me to quit because of how frustrated I can get at times, and she would honestly like to see more of me.
2) Most of you know I was promoted to Assistant Manager about a month ago, and this has taken up a lot more of my time than I originally thought it would.
3) 8man. After years of playing this game I am tired of PvE, I am tired of Tower Humping, Keep Thumping, Relic Raiding, and Zergsurfing. The only thing I really enjoy is 8v8 and I need to take steps towards accomplishing the rest of the personal goals I have for the game.
4) I have tried a few times to get a stable “Divinity” 8man together but this is tough to do in a guild of casual gamers. I respect everyone’s rights to log on, log off, and do whatever you want with your free time.
So what I am going to do is move my 3 RvR toons to Rival. Until a new GL for Divinity is chosen I will leave my Heretic and Necro in Divinity and maintain the daily functions of the guild (Paying for the house, and making sure guild bonus is turned on.) I would like to leave these two characters in Divinity regardless of the new leader, but I will understand if whomever takes my place doesn’t approve. Divinity has had a long standing rule about having alts in other guilds. IF there are any guild invite requests or alliance matters I will still help with.
If you have someone you think would make a good GL or you would like to try to do what I couldn’t, please PM me or Molukai. This is not goodbye, this is just a change for me, and anyone at anytime is welcome to howdy me and I do hope you are not mad at me for what I have to do.
