Awesome, a fellow warrior priest. Can't have enough hammer wielding fighting healers about. I'll keep an eye out for you next time I'm on.
Also, Molukai...

Hey guys, I used to run with you back in the DAoC days. I'd like to hook back up with you in WAR if you'll have me. My play time isn't quite what it was back then and I'm getting a late jump, but I'll be happy to contribute however I can.
Btw, I'm considering either an Engineer or a Witch Hunter. Any recommendations?

Howdy and welcome back! What name will you be going by in game so we can look for you? Also of course you can just send a tell to Molukai or anyone else in Divinity to get an invite.
As for Witch Hunter or Engineer, Rycroft has been playing a Witch Hunter and may be able to give you some impressions so far. In addition Rocko has mentioned that he'll be making an Engineer so he should have an opinion about that class soon as well. I have a level five Engineer and I enjoy it as a defensive ranged DPS character. You can put up a turret and some mines and fire your rifle from afar. In all honesty though, considering the current version of the game has been out since the 16th (18th for most people), I think most people will only have initial impressions. If worse comes to worse and you do not like what your choose, you can always start over and you know the guild will assist in getting your character up to speed.
I would also recommend checking out the websites warhammervault.ign.com and war-rvr.net if you would like other player's opinions of classes. See you in game!

I have a lvl 10, almost 11 Engineer.
They are good and bad, like all classes. If you are looking for a melee giant, the engineer is not the one. Defense wise, you are looking at one of the best. Dont think that this is really an offensive class, more support and finisher.
The turret can a be a bit of a problem because of lack of mobility, but you learn to compesate for it and can slap one down at any time.
They have an array of grenades and mines that really help in flag defence. Ive used and seen them used to turn the tide of over whelming Destruction attacks that would have won out without their use.
The range and damage is good, not as good as the casters as you are given pets to add to your damage but i am able to keep the castsers and healers heads down til someone can kill them
The one massive down fall of the Eng is close combat. we literally stink unless you spec more in it. its like a scout or skirmisher speced Swordwarrior, great distance and perhaps mid to close.. but if you have to melee, become resolute and prepare to die... some Witch elf, DOK, or Maurader has taken it in his/her mind you are dead.

Ahh okay. Good to know. Remembering back to the DAoC days, I enjoyed ranged DPS, especially when it came time to defend keeps and whatnot. The Engineer and Shadow Warrior both look pretty nice, but in checking their abilities the SW gets a Mortal Strike (WoW term - shots that cut healing on the target by 50%) while the Eng doesn't. Idk, I figure I'll try them both and see which I like better. In the end they are probably fairly similar. /shrug

The engineer is a lot more fun class, although SW is the best non-caster class in terms of damage utility for Empire
