Have we considered making it a policy that no member can have alts until their primary has reached R7? Might this not help Divinity, not just strength-wise, but also with players making more of an investment into the game, and therefore being more committed?

I would agree with you, but it would cause more strife than any good unless we can make a consistent large-scale guild exp system

Well, one thing I have learned the hard way is that however high (or low) you set the bar of expectations- that is exactly what you will get. And if you don't know where you are heading- you will get there just the same (meaning nowhere for those of you in Rio Linda).
If we do not institute a policy like this we may well have a large guild in size, however we will wield no power at the same time. This can only lead to our own ruination, as there are few things more demoralizing than getting constantly pk'd and having no chance to retaliate.
I could be wrong, but I think those members truly interested in the welfare of our Nation would have absolutely no problem with this policy. It would help alleviate the PL'ing issue also, as there would be fewer people intially needing help, and since they are only focused on one toon they may well be a little more focused on its welfare- instead of putting it on cruise control and hoping the "trainer" doesn't get jumped. In short, it has always been my belief that Quality trumps Quantity- granted zerg tactics will win out, but even those people know it is a hollow victory, and soon leave off of those tactics (perhaps this had something to do with CS's implosion).
As to an XP system, I would be happy to help form a schedule based on availability- with that being defined as those time a player is able AND willing to commit a time slot strictly for the betterment of the guild. If we arranged short periods where high powered members could take PL groups out, we may well be able to coordinate "trainers" to allow lengthy PL'ing sessions without having to tie up a single player or toon. Again, the policy of everyone having an R7 toon would quickly make this plausible, as many different types of toons can PL- obviously some are more effective than others, but to the PL'd toons I say "Beggars can't be Choosers."

wow I couldn't agree more with you Darkspawn. This weekend when out pking, mine fighting and rune hunting I found that the majority of the people in the Nation were mostly R5 - R6. I already have two R7 toons since I joined the guild. I am working on a new toon so I will be holding PL groups up at turtles soon.

For the last week and a half I've been farming/pl'ing others during the majority of my online time. I actually like doing it. However, the near constant pk's just north of the city make it impossible to get much done. We are rolled probably every 15 to 20 minutes and it's usually the same one or two attackers. It's so bad right now that my own alt has only managed to get 2 levels in the last week and that was only because I took her out alone.
I can't protect a group alone. I'm gimped and can barely protect them from the mobs. Aem helps when he can. But the attacker just calls in a friend and we all die again. Since we've lost our tracker no real pl'ing is going on near the city. And my farming alone for the trainer was reduced to kill 3 mobs and bank/get pk'ed, run up the hill and try another camp, kill 3 mobs and bank/get pk'ed, repeat, repeat, repeat. It's very discouraging, not only to us but to the noobs as well.
A couple of hours with power would do wonders for leveling these people if some of you could spare the time. Then we could get some turtles groups with full rosters again.

I've been offline for about a week now, but am looking to get fully involved again shortly. I'll be more than happy to help deal some pain to those PK'ers. Give me a name or two, and maybe we'll just turn the tables on them and hunt them everywhere they go.

fealty is my biggest pain. He's a templar and no matter how close we get him to death, he gets a sudden full heal so he has a friend sitting nearby. basher is another that haunts the spot often.
and then there is the thief that hides inside the bank on a semi-regular basis. sorry, I don't know his name

Nothing a little GM'd Shadowmantle can't solve- along with some decent Fire Resists.
