This is the official charter that was written by Ted Roller, now a Divinity alumnus, from the DAOC Percival guild chapter. Since its adoption to the Percival chapter it was also adopted as the official international charter of conduct for all members of all chapters of the Divine Empire. The Divine Empire is the MGO that oversees all Divinity gaming guilds led by Molukai or affiliates.
Hero of the Divine Empire
“The Hero of the Divine Empire is one whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority; who is humbled if necessity compels him/her to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of their own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his/her word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his/her own; and who appears well in any company, a hero with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.”
Adapted for the Divinity branch guild from the works of John Walter Wayland
Officially adopted for the entire organization on 10/1/04 from the archives of Ted Roller
The Divine Empire's Code of Conduct
The code of the Empire cannot be summed up better than in the words above, and we as the Heroes of Divinity must hold sacred the gift that we were given by Molukai and help foster and grow that gift to the furtherance of all Albion. As such, the following code of conduct shall act as a torch at night to help each of us find his way…
----------
-=1=- The honor of Divinity is your sacred charge; do not act in any way that will soil our high purpose and name.
-=2=- Love each of your brothers and sisters; put their needs before your own and make time to help them achieve their goals. Be ever mindful of the acts of kindness your brothers and sisters bestow upon you.
-=3=- Work always for the greater good of Albion; make a difference in the lives of those around you. We seek a higher purpose in this realm; we hold a brighter torch. Remember that your actions both ill and good affect the lives of others around you. Strive always to be an example of what is good and right - both in and outside of the realm.
-=4=- Generosity and kindness are the deeds of honor – revel in the joys that are the rewards of both.
-=5=- Act honorably in the lands of our enemies – slay not the weak and defenseless – treat other realms as you would be treated – Realm Points are insignificant beside honor – do not sacrifice one for the other.
-=6=- Follow the will of the leaders of the guild; Divinity must show a united front in all actions.
-=7=- Be active in the world around you – join us often – know well your fellow guild members.
