Alb Dragon Slaying Guide

How to kill the Albion dragon
Before the raid:
You need around 80+ people to do it normally with my method. Sometimes less can work. The more you use though, the faster it can be done. I've done raids with 65 people at the end that took near 2 hours to complete, and raids with 150 people that were over in 10 minutes. If you come with about 80, expect around an hour to kill the dragon. As the raid leader, I create a macro hot bar (I use bar 8) and fill it with common FAQ macros for the raid. My macros are….
1 ~~~ We will be splitting into forces for this raid. When you have a full group, send me your group leader and your members, and I will give you your army number ~~~
2 ~~~ All 100% quality armor/weapons are lotto 50’s. All jewels and non 100% items are for anyone 44+ ~~~
3 ~~~ We rally at Catacombs ~~~
4 ~~~ Dragon raid is open to levels 41+ if they wish to attend and can get a group ~~~
5 ~~~ You must be in a full group to receive a stone. Stones will be given to group leaders, and each group can discuss how they think is fair to lotto their stone ~~~
6 ~~~ Remember, it is beneficial to –YOU- to convince your friends to attend. You don’t want to go and die, so for your own sake get more people out here ~~~
7 ~~~ If your group leader doesn’t report in, you won’t get a stone. Report in if you have a full group
8 ~~~ When you have a full group, in one long typed tell give me each member’s name, the group leader’s name, and I will give you your army number ~~~
9 ~~~ We leave when we get enough. You don’t want to go and die, so lets just wait here on a few more people (80ish total) ~~~
10 ~~~ If you wish to roll for a level 50 alt, instead of the level 50 you are bringing, give me the class of your alt before we leave ~~~
((( I put this on hot bar 1)
10~~~ You are too far ahead %t. Please come back towards me. ~~~
(( I call this –THE MACRO- ))
When you form the CG, it will be full of FAQ’s from tons of people. It is best for you to have all these planed out to save yourself time and prevent confusion. Of course, you can modify your requirements about items or stones how you want. The way I split stones is, instead of having 80 people lotto for the entire 68ish items the dragon drops (25 realm stones, 25 skill stones, 4 100% items, 12-14 non 100% items) I split stones according to group leaders (10 groups means 5 stones per group). Of course you will have remainder stones or have to choose which group gets a 5th realm stone and which gets a 5th skill stone, so for that you can have the 10 group leads /random for to pass out to their group, instead of being mugged by 100 greedy people at once. Besides being easy for you, this method allows guilds or groups of friends to attend a raid and before the raid have talks like “Hey man, Rick your spec is so horrible. We can do this raid for you man, because you deserve a stone so much you can have one of our group’s” (basically guaranteeing this deserving friend gets his chance to Respec).
Split groups into army 1, 2, or 3 as they send you. Just tell them to fill normal groups, with a healthy balance of fighters and clerics and such.
You only actually fill 2 special groups. Buff group and power cycle group
Buff group: Basically this is as many theurgist, sorcerers, and wizards you can find. Their purpose is to buff each army’s members as they die. They will be in a small buffing station at a corner of the lair.
Power cycle group (as many of these as you can form): This isn’t really a group, it’s just 2 people. For stone purposes I ask they reserve a spot in another group there. One Cabalist and One Deathsight Necromancer. The Necromancer will /duel the Cabalist and just powertap the pet repeatedly, only using the level 34 powertap (it will cap out on power returned just like the higher level one, but will cost less power to use). . Then transfer that power to any clerics or anyone that needs it. The cabalist can always cycle pets to keep up on power, and the Necromancer can powertap creating an infinite power loop. I’ve seen something similar done on PvE servers where a necromancer would duel a Bonedancer and just powertap the BD himself while the healing pets keep the Bonedancer alive.
If you can’t get enough people to do the raid, don’t bother wasting everyone’s time by going and dying. Just keep rallying until you get enough, which is where my rally macro comes in. When you put on the people themselves, and give them selfish reasons to help you get more people to attend they are more likely to help. Lastly, I always rally at catacombs or near to it (rather than Cornwall for instance) because the walk is a bit shorter.
During the raid:
Walk to the dragon lair, and at any time if anyone starts Zerging away from you, just call them out by name in the CG with –THE MACRO ™ - Normally, if you call people out by name they tend to listen. Once at the lair, describe the rules during the raid.
Rules to explain with the CG at the lair:
(this is when I turn /cg listen on)
1) ~~~ SPREAD OUT!!! Look around you folks… keep looking… keep looking… the lair is a –huge- place. Use that space. Spreading out is key. ~~~
It is very important you explain to them they are not allowed to rest near the person that has rezed them, and that it is OK to rest allllllll over the place Really pound that into them. Spreading out is important. Let people know that the dragon can be attacked from a VERY large radius so even while you are attacking the dragon, spread out. Make sure people know to /face the dragon, not /stick. It is to prevent the times when you get a lag ghost taking out too many people from dragon breath while /sticking, as well as helps spread folks out while they are attacking the dragon.
2) ~~~ OBEY ARMY ORDERS. Only attack when your army is up ~~~
Make sure everyone knows this isn’t a normal –Lets Zerg the thing- kind of raid. They are only allowed to attack when their army is up, and when their army is not up they must STOP hitting the dragon and rest outside the lair. The purpose of attacking in waves is so that the dragon’s AE breath doesn’t wipe out everyone at once. By attacking in 3 waves, when army 1 is all taken out, by the time army 3 is dead army 1 is already alive and ready to attack again. After the first 3 waves of people have been sent at the dragon, it is ok to rez outside your army.
3) ~~~ AT ALL TIMES BE BUFFED BY THE BUFF GROUP. CLERICS USE THE NECRO LOOPS PLEASE ~~~
This is also important. Damage add and haste are very key for all melee of the army currently on the dragon. Damage add is half your damage. Sorcerer power regeneration buffs are also important for all magic using classes no matter if your army is on the dragon or not. The Power loop idea is not new at all to the game, but it WILL be new to most the clerics that are attending the raid. You must make sure they know exactly how important this is, and that they need to just keep bugging your Necromancers. Another thing to remember, is to make sure everyone knows they aren’t allowed to rest near the buff groups or they power cycle groups. Really bites when they get wiped.
4) ~~~ FLAT OUT, NO RANGED ATTACKS ~~~
Just don’t. It’s too many complications. Someone will simply not listen, so just don’t use them. As well, don’t bother healing people currently on the dragon. Theurgist pets are ok, but make them use the earth pets only. Even air theurgist should stick with earth pets simply because they last longer and longer lasting means more targets are on the dragon longer (The more –targets- hitting something, the more damage each person does which is the purpose of Earth pets at the time. Earth pets last 30 seconds, while air pets only last 20). Paladin heal chant is a sure fire way to die so none of that either.
Then just send army 1 in. When army 1 goes in, I tell the buff group to setup in the NW corner and let everyone repeatedly know where they are. The power loop groups can setup at different spots, just as long as everyone knows. When army 1 gets hurt really bad, tell them to fall back and send army 2 in. Don’t let army 3 rez army 1 just yet. Only armies 1 and 2 need be on the dragon’s hate list. When army 2 wipes, army 3 goes in and it’s open rezing (all rez classes can rez as they want). Then just keep cycling. As the raid leader, I’m a theurgist so I run around randomly buffing folks and watching the fight. Have to watch to make sure enough people are on the dragon. Try to keep track of each group’s status during the raid. Sometimes, you just have to leave an extremely hurt army hitting the dragon for a bit (doing effectively zero damage or even the dragon healing a bit on you) in order to give the other armies time to rest up. It’s a long fight with around 80 or less people, but is a pretty easy Zerg fest with about 135+. If I see a bunch of people resting next to each other, I’ll run into the middle of the pack and - /s If you can hear my voice, you are too close together. Please move away - Always be watching the fight, and just politely /send people that are using ranged attack to stop. It’s important to keep moral up during the fight. Sometimes you get hit badly by AE and people start the doom-talking. Just calm them down and remind them that it is suppose to be a long fight. The basic idea of my strategy is to spread out as much as possible in order to neuter the dragon’s AE damage as much as possible.
Once you’re done: Respec to be uber, go RvR, and the next time you get Chanter debuff/stun owned, it will be with higher parry spec!!

My character’s name is Cep and I’m an ex-raid leader from Percival/Albion. This method has worked quite a few times here, and I’ve helped other servers attempt as well. Yours should be able to do the same, and I hope a somewhat similar strategy can be designed for the other 2 realms.
